The 2022 Bluegrass, Brews & BBQ Free Music Festival closed out a successful day of music, food, and brews under the stars in Canal Place.
Event organizer Dave Warner stated, “When you’re planning something like this, there are so many moving parts, but the biggest one is the weather. About a week out, the forecast looked great, and once we got the chill out of the air and the early morning overcast cleared off, it was perfect.”
“I think it’s unusual to put something like this on and at the end of the day go home and realize that it went off without a hitch. The vendors sold out, we had a great crowd of between 1,600 and 1,800 people, and most commented that it was just the most peaceful, fantastic festival that they’d been to,” he said.
Tony DeLuca, Executive Director of the Youth and Family Center and one of the show’s sponsors, said, “This year’s festival was a perfect blend of great music, delicious BBQ & beverages, excellent weather, and a friendly crowd in the beautiful surroundings of Canal Place. Special thanks to the City of Little Falls, our sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and the talented musicians for another great day of Bluegrass.”
Cincinnati Creek went onstage first, and Lori Thompson, leader of the group, said, “We think it was very well organized and attended. The bands displayed a variety within the bluegrass genre. The food was delicious too! There was something for everyone.”
Philip Aldi with 508 Salvage was one of the vendors on hand, and he stated, “What a great event to be a part of. The atmosphere was perfect at Canal Place. It’s such a great setting for a festival. Everyone was smiling and happy. Who could blame them?”
The park was in fantastic condition before the Bluegrass folks even arrived because of the work the Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival had put into sprucing the place up with cornstalks and hay bales. DPW had come in and manicured the park and trimmed trees as well.
Warner said, “The park looked really fantastic and inviting. Everyone that helped get the park looking that way really contributed to a successful event for us.”
