September 8th from 3 pm to 5 pm at Canal Side Inn
Little Falls, NY—Canal Side Inn and The Bluegrass, Bikes & BBQ Festival co-sponsored by the City of Little Falls Tourism Committee and the YMCA have partnered to host award-winning bluegrass musician, Dan Weber, on Sunday, September 8th from 3 pm to 5 pm. The Weber performance is a ticketed, encore festival event with seating limited to 75 guests.
According to Canal Side Inn’s co-owner, Neil Rosenbaum, “We’re excited to support the bluegrass festival by hosting the Dan Weber performance. It’s the kind of event that we love participating in and supporting. Music, food, and fun…what could be better?”
“It was a stroke of good luck to be able to include Dan Weber in this year’s festival lineup. Unable to make our Saturday event, he agreed to drive to Little Falls from Rochester to accommodate our bluegrass fans,” noted David E. Warner, Event Director.
Dan Weber from Vancouver, Washington is an award-winning songwriter described as “The Classic Mid-Life Overnight Sensation” after bursting onto the festival scene in 2010 to a standing ovation at the Sisters Folk Festival for his engaging set in the Dave Carter songwriting contest. Weber began performing later in life at age 40. He is a gifted storyteller who can quickly win over audiences with his natural charisma, upbeat performances, authentic songwriting, and off-the-cuff hilarious stories.
Weber has toured extensively across the country. He’s a rare 3-time finalist in the legendary Kerrville ‘New Folk’ competition and had 2 top finishes in the Woody Guthrie songwriting contest. In 2015, he won the prestigious Winfield, Kansas ‘NewSong’ contest for ‘Oh Woody’, his anthemic tribute to Woody Guthrie, that rose to #2 on the Folk charts in 2015. His “Ever Since Columbine” song recently won 1st place in the Woody Guthrie Songwriting contest.
His songs are described as ‘Timeless,’ and ‘Authentic’ and his debut CD ‘Ash and Bone’ received accolades from American Songwriter Magazine and the UK’s Maverick Magazine said: “4 Stars: Has you hanging on to every word. That’s the touch of a true Master Craftsman songwriter.”
Weber said, “I love small towns in general. I dig the old hardware stores and Main Street USA. I always go to the local antique store when I’m in a town because you see all these old photos of the place.”
“I love an intimate setting where you’re playing in front of 50 or 75 people. People are quiet, they listen more, so you feel like you get this connection with them and you get feedback from the audience. They sing along, laugh at your jokes, and that kind of thing,” said Weber.
Tickets for the Dan Weber performance on Sunday, September 8th from 3 pm to 5 pm at Canal Side Inn are $5 per person on a first-come basis and available through the Festival Director, David E Warner at (315) 508-4310 or email@example.com.
